5 Healthy Hiking Snacks You've Got To Try-Panergy
Hiking season is upon us! I love nothing more than being outside ALL DAY LONG on the trails.
But of course, you've got to fuel your adventure, so below are some of my favorite healthy hiking snacks that you can easily take on your next hike!
Here's what I consider healthy when it comes to hiking snacks - real, whole, simple foods that are minimally processed and nutrient dense.
Grocery store aisles are full of bars and granolas that are often pumped full of sugar. I always try to choose hiking snacks that are lower in sugar and higher in protein and save the sugary stuff for those rare moments on the trail when I'm really low on energy.

2. Homemade Trail Mix
Making your own trail mix is so easy. Simply combine your favorite nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and crackers in a bag and you’re good to go! I usually hit the bulk section of the grocery store to get inspired for my own combinations.
3. Protein Bars
These are some of my current favorite protein bars:
Oatmega Bars
Square Bars
GoMacro Bars
Power Crunch Bars
4. Homemade Protein Energy Bites
Below are some great recipes:
5-minute protein peanut butter energy bites
salted date brownie energy bites
no-bake energy bites with ginger and turmeric (give me all the ginger and turmeric!!!)
5. Plantain Chips
I love plantain chips! They’re crunchy, salty, and often a little more sturdy than other chips so they don’t crumble in your backpack. Sometimes I even like to spread peanut butter on mine. Weird I know, but I like it!
