How do you wash dishes while camping?-ipanergy

After cooking dinner in the pots and pans, I fill the coffee pot thingy with water and place it on the burner of the camp stove, which is still lit because I just cooked dinner. While the water is heating, my wife and I eat dinner. By the time we’re done, the water in the pot is boiling or near-boiling. We mix the hot water with cool water to get the temperature just right for the little washing tub and the rinsing tub. There is usually water left in the coffee pot, but that depends on how close to boiling the water got while we ate.

Since the soap is bio-degradable and environmentally friendly, after the dishes are clean, we pour the soapy water out first, on the ground not too near a tree or plant. Then we rinse the wash basin with the rinse water, and pour that out. All dishes washed with the equivalent of four mugs of coffee, often less.

Be sure to buy small dishes, such as the toy ones sold for kids. They’ll fit in a small tub and wash with small amounts of water.
